The Goa Police registered a murder case following actor turned politician Sonali Phogat's death. Phogat's autopsy was conducted today after the family's consent was given.
As per police reports, the autopsy revealed multiple bruises and blunt injuries. The 42-year-old politician died reportedly of a heart attack in Goa on 23 August. Thereafter Phogat's family has been raising questions about the cause of her death.
Phogat's brother Rinku Dhaka filed a complaint over suspicion of murder against two of her associates PA Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder. Dhaka accused both of them of rape and murder in the complaint. It also mentioned blackmailing Phogat over an objectional video. Dhaka alleged it to be a political conspiracy. Phogat's brother-in-law Aman Punia confirmed that the autopsy was completed and the murder case is being filed.
The panel of three doctors started the procedure around 12 pm and ended by 4 pm. Rinku Dhaka and Aman Punia were present in the hospital during the autopsy, also it was video graphed. Aman Punia in a report said that the remains of Phogat will be taken to Hisar, her hometown. Meanwhile, the Goa administration assures the family of a fair investigation, claimed Phogat's brother Watan Dhaka.

Goa Director General of Police Jaspal Singh said, "we have filed the complaint made by Aman Punia and Rinku Dhaka. After the reports of the autopsy will do further investigation. Whether Phogat was given drugs or not, other minute investigation will be carried out once reports are clear", as per a report.
Punia claimed that Sudhir Sangwan used Phogat's phone for at least 12 hours after her death. He questioned why wasn't she rushed to the hospital if her health was deteriorating. Her death was informed at 8 am.

She was reportedly scheduled to stay in Goa from August 22 to August 25. Phogat reported feeling uneasy while dining at “Curlies” in Anjuna, where she was later transported to the hospital, according to Goa Director General of Police Jaspal Singh.
