India’s first secretary at the United Nations, Sneha Dubey, is being applauded by social media for her response to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's speech on the issue of Kashmir. Dubey exercised India's right to reply at the UN General Assembly to respond to Khan, who had spoken at the UN about the death of separatist leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani, who was also a three-time MLA from Sopore and also spoke against India's decision to scrap article 370 that took away Jammu & Kashmir's special status.
Responding to Khan's speech Sneha Dubey called Pakistan a country that is an arsonist disguising itself as a firefighter. "Pakistan nurtures terrorists in their backyard in the hope that they will only harm their neighbours. Our region, and in fact the entire world, has suffered because of their policies," she said, further accusing Pakistan of trying to cover up sectarian violence in their country as acts of terror.

An IFS officer of the 2012 batch, Dubey reaffirmed India's stance on Kashmir, saying that the entire Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh "were, are and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India." She also added that this included the areas that are under the illegal occupation of Pakistan. "We call upon Pakistan to immediately vacate all areas under its illegal occupation."
Dubey's speech is being applauded for its clarity and for presenting India's strong stance to the neighbouring country. Her name began trending on Twitter, on September 25, as a clip of her speech began doing rounds on social media.
