Kerala SN College Professor has been found guilty of sexual Harassment by the Directorate of Collegiate Education. Six students had filed complaints with the college authorities in August 2021 but to no avail. The Directorate found the assistant professor guilty of sending inappropriate messages to his female students as well as making video calls at odd hours.
Sree Narayan (SN) College assistant professor T Abhilash has been found guilty of the sexual harassment allegations made against him by several students of the college. Six students had filed a complaint against the professor back in 2021 but to no avail so they reported to Governor Ariff Mohammed Khan and a police investigation was followed in the case.
SN College Professor Sexual Harassment Case:
The Directorate of Collegiate Education in its report mentioned that T Abhilash has been found guilty of sending inappropriate messages and making video calls to his students at odd hours. In his defense, the professor stated that the calls had been made by mistake but the Directorate suggested that his statement is invalid since the calls were made to multiple students.
The college administration of SN College, Kerala refused to take any action against the accused professor and instead took action against five teachers who were in support of the complainants as the Internal Committee acted in the favour of the accused professor. It is alleged that the IC had questioned the complainants for several hours where they were also humiliated by the committee.

The Directorate of Collegiate probe also found Saritha SR, Head of History Department and Physical Education teacher Amjith, complying with T Abhilash. The latter is an Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department of the college. Saritha SR has been alleged of asking the relatives of one of the complainants to withdraw the allegations, whereas, Amjith allegedly accused the students of filing fake complaints against Abhilash.
Former faculty member, Swapna Gopinath conducted a Gender Sensitisation session for the students where she discussed the PoSH Act (The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013). It encouraged the students to step up and take an action against the continuous misconduct of the professor.
