Journalist Arnab Goswami was arrested today, November 4, in a case of abetment to suicide from 2018. 53-year-old interior designer Anvay Naik had alleged non-payment of dues by Goswami and two others as the reason why he and his mother had to take such an extreme step. The reinvestigation of the same was reordered in May 2020 by Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. As per Republic TV Goswami was ‘manhandled’ and ‘thrashed’ at the time of the arrest.
