Smriti Irani's #JaanLeLoMeri Look Is A Hilarious Ode To Indian Mothers

Union Minister Smriti Irani, known for her spunky Instagram game, took to the platform on Tuesday to share a look that all Indian mothers, both working and non-working ones, are familiar with. The infamous #JaanLeLoMeri look. Irani, mother to two children, shared a picture of herself masked up with her eyebrows visibly furrowed and a crinkled nose, writing in the caption the tragedy of balancing on-the-go online meetings "with battle cries of ‘mummmmaaaa...’" The 44-year-old's post invited several comments from co-parents, who related to her concerns.

Irani, who is currently a prominent politician in BJP and is the Minister of Women and Child Development, has been noted for her easy candour on social media. The former television actor often shares snaps from her personal life, including of children Zohr and Zoish, and husband Zubin Irani. Her #JaanLeLoMeri dialogue is one every desi child has had the privilege of hearing from their mother.

Irani's Post Is Relatable To Parents

Irani's post has amassed over 20,000 likes and many comments, including from actor Tusshar Kapoor. Brother of television producer Ekta Kapoor, who has been associated with Irani since the days she headlined popular daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, he commented, "I hear you....all comes together."

Another parent wrote, "Mammmaaaaa: "where have you kept my 'yellow flower design on red' pants ?" 😋 #definitelylamereasons but mom's are the best detectives."

Smriti Irani's Social Media Candour

A few days ago, Irani had shared a snap of how her work mornings looked. Seated in a lawn in front of a laptop, she could be seen donned in a saree and hawai chappals. The post had resonated with several social media users that have adapted to a half-casual, half-formal work-from-home look during the pandemic.

The minister also recently shared childhood memories with her grandfather and pictures of her New Delhi home in RK Puram. Her post prompted many others to reminisce about their past, including actor Sonu Sood, Gul Panag, and Aashka Goradia, among others.
