Engaging trailer
The trailer that goes on for three-minutes sees Zaira as Aisha narrating the love story of her parents, who she fondly calls Panda (Farhan) and Moose (Priyanka). She takes the viewers from their early days of romance to their marriage to their unplanned parenthood, and how the couple braves all the vicissitudes of life that come their way. The family faces a challenge when Aisha is diagnosed with a serious immune deficiency and they toil day and night to save her.
Talking about the significance of the title, Shonali Bose said in an interview to Scroll, "Your sky can be whatever colour you choose it to be. For one of the characters in the film, it is pink. For another, it can be a rainbow of colors. What colour is your sky? I hope every person in the audience of this film asks themselves this question," she said
Bose had earlier told PTI, “The Sky Is Pink is a deeply personal and an incredibly special film for me. At its core, this is an extraordinary story of what it means to be a family.”
Zaira Wasim's Last Film?
The Sky is Pink may also be Zaira Wasim's last film. She had announced that she will quit acting after this. In a long social media post in June this year, she wrote, "Though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here". She said that she was not happy with the line of work as it interfered with her faith and religion.
The movie is slated to release on October 11. Before this, it will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13. The film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Priyanka's Purple Pebble Pictures. She was last seen in Prakash Jha's 2016 film Jai Gangaajal.
