SIT Files Chargesheet Before Faridabad Court In Ballabgarh Woman Killing Case

Ballabgarh woman was just 21 and allegedly shot dead by a stalker in broad daylight on October 26 in Faridabad district. She was rushed to the hospital where she died because of her injuries.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Haryana Police submitted a chargesheet before a Faridabad court on Friday in connection with the killing of the college student in Ballabgarh. She was just 21 and allegedly shot dead by a stalker in broad daylight on October 26. The Haryana police have arrested three accused in the case and a 700-page long chargesheet has been filed against them.

According to the police, the names of 60 witnesses are included in the chargesheet, which was filed within eleven days after the case was registered, ANI reported. Police said that the "chargesheet was prepared on the basis of digital, forensic and material evidence."

The chargesheet has been filed under Sections 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and several relevant sections of the Arms Act.

Earlier, demanding justice for his deceased daughter, Moolchand Tomar said “I want the accused to be hanged. I trust the judicial system of our country but it also depends on the handling of the case,” ANI reported.

All the three accused were arrested last week from Nuh district. The main accused, a resident of Kabir Nagar in Sohna, has reportedly confessed to the crime. He was arrested five hours after the crime.

The deceased Ballabgarh college student’s mother Vijayawati Tomar said, “Our daughter was very bright. He killed her because he knew he couldn’t force her to convert to Islam… She wanted to become a government officer, had plans to appear for the civil services,” ThePrint reported.

As per news reports, just two days before the incident, the accused visited the college to meet the deceased student. He and his friends were also spotted at the institute talking to some unidentified students, revealed CCTV footage from that week, TOI reported.

The girl’s family has alleged that he has been stalking her since 2018. He had tried to abduct her two years ago as well, as per reports. .

“We had complained about the boy in 2018 for harassing our daughter. He had been after her life since then, but withdrew the complaint after Ahmed’s family begged us and told us that it won’t happen again,” said Nikita’s father, Moolchand Tomar, who works with a private company.
