Every day there is a new revelation in the Shraddha Walkar murder case. With every development, many questions have been raised. This time why police couldn't sense the severity of Walkar's situation. In a recent development, it reportedly came to light that Walkar filed non-cognisable complaint (NC) against Aaftab Poonawala.
Shraddha Walkar, who was allegedly slaughtered by her boyfriend Aaftab Poonawala into pieces, and dumped in a jungle in Delhi, had seen this coming as much as two years ago. She wrote about her situation in a complaint to the police in her hometown Vasai in Maharashtra, as per the investigators. Walkar gave a written complaint to the cops after the accused physically abused her at a flat they shared, and that his family was aware of his violent behaviour.

To confirm the complaint, a Social activist Poonam Bidlani recorded her statement before the Delhi police. On Monday Bidlani stated, "Shraddha approached me through one of our social workers, Rahul, for help in 2020. She told me that Aaftab argued with her over a minor issue of not eating a meal."
Further added, she helped Shraddha lodge a non-cognisable complaint (NC) but Shraddha did not pursue the matter due to pressure from his family.
Tulinj police also confirmed to TOI that Walkar gave a written application to them against the accused.
A Delhi police team is investigating the case thoroughly and examining all sides of it. They have been recording the statements of their acquaintances and family. They recorded the statement of a staffer of Ozone hospital where Shraddha had been hospitalized in December 2020. Police also plan to record the statement of staff at Poonawala's workplace, where he worked as a chef.
Earlier, an actor, Imran Nasir Khan, who claimed to have met Walkar during a cleanup drive, released a video. In the video, he is seen saying she was "depressed as her boyfriend did drugs and would torture her".
Meanwhile, activists held protests in which they said such cases should be taken seriously and victims must be given all kinds of support.
In the latest chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police, it is mentioned that Aaftab Poonawala was friends with several women, and this bothered Shraddha Walkar as she suspected that he was cheating on her.
