Actor Shobana Chandrakumar tested positive for Omicron. She informed her fans about her situation by posting a selfie on Instagram and urged her fans to get vaccinated. She suggested that they should take the necessary precautions. Shobana admitted that she had taken precautions but had contracted the infection despite her efforts. The 51-year-old actor is known for her works in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films.
"Despite my precautions, I became infected with Omicron. On the first day, I had joint pains, chills, and a scratchy throat, followed by a slightly sore throat - and that was just the beginning! And my symptoms are improving by the day." The Chennai-based actor posted on Instagram with a selfie.
She says she's "glad" she got both vaccine doses and encourages everyone else to do the same if they haven't already. "I pray that with this variant no more Covid-19 cases increase and it puts the ultimate end to the pandemic thing.”

Fans quickly flooded her post with messages wishing her a speedy recovery. One fan advised, "Take care, Shobana ma'am." Another wrote, "Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery!" Shobana is an active social media user. She generally shares dance videos and interacts with her fans on a regular basis.
Varane Avashyamund, Shobana's most recent Malayalam film. This movie was released in 2020. Anoop Sathyan directed the film, in which she co-starred in with her Manichithrathazhu co-star Suresh Gopi. KPAC Lalitha, Dulquer Salmaan, and Kalyani Priyadarshan also starred in Varane Avashyamund. The title of Shobana's next film is yet to be revealed.
According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, India saw an increase of 1,79,723 coronavirus infections in a single day, bringing the total to 3,57,07,727, with 4,033 cases of the Omicron variant which are reported across almost all the States and Union Territories.
