Actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch on Monday night for allegedly producing pornographic films and publishing them through mobile apps.
According to ANI, the Mumbai police confirmed that the 45-year-old appears to be the “key conspirator”. “We have sufficient evidence regarding this,” police said.

Reportedly, a case regarding the production of obscene films was filed in February this year.
“There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidences regarding this. Investigation is in progress please," the CP of Mumbai police said in a statement.
According to E Times, the police have filed two FIRs and arrested nine people last week for alleged coercion on actors to film nude scenes for pornographic movies.
Kundra has denied the allegations against him and has sought anticipatory bail, as per reports.
Who is Raj Kundra?
Raj Kundra was born and raised in London where his father migrated from Ludhiana. Initially, he started a business of pashmina shawls and his buyers were major fashion houses in Britain.
Kudra has a daughter from his first marriage with Kavita Kundra. After their divorce, he tied the knot with actor Shilpa Shetty in 2009. The couple has a son, who was born in 2012 and they had a daughter via surrogacy last year.
The businessman is set to launch India’s first live streaming social media app named Jaldi Live Stream App under the government of India’s Startup India initiative.
This is not the first time that Raj Kundra has come under the scanner of police authorities. Earlier, he was interrogated by Delhi police in connection with the betting and spot-fixing scandal during the Indian Premiere League.
