Shikhar Dhawan Ayesha Mukherjee: Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and his wife Ayesha Mukherjee have divorced after eight years of marriage. The latter took to Instagram to announce the same on 7th September.

1. The duo got married in October 2012.
2. Ayesha is 10 years older than Shikhar Dhawan.
3. Ayesha Mukherjee has two daughters from her previous marriage and a 7-year-old son Zoravar from this marriage. He was born in 2014. The two are yet to reveal who will look after the son after the separation.
4. In her Instagram post, Mukherjee wrote that she thought divorce was a dirty word until she became a two-time divorcee.
5. Talking about her divorce, she said that she is going through it for the second time and it is terrifying. She feels she has more at stake this time round. With time, she realised that the meaning she gave to the word divorce was her own doing. She feels more empowered now.
6. "So, once I realised this I started to redefine the word and the experience of divorce according to the way I wanted to see it and experience it," Ayesha Mukherjee wrote in her post.
7. She said that for her, divorce meant choosing herself and not settling and sacrificing her own life for the sake of a marriage.
8. The post has received around 5500 likes and 656 comments. A lot of users commented expressing disbelief. One user also said that they were an ideal couple but sometimes it is difficult for two good people to live together.

As per reports, her emotional post announcing her divorce is from her new Instagram account which has many pictures of Ayesha, her two daughters and son together but not a single picture with her ex-husband Dhawan. The bio written on Aesha Mukerji's Instagram account says that she helps women who have lost their identity and independence.
10. Currently, Shikhar Dhawan is in the United Arab Emirates where he will be playing for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Ayesha Mukherjee lives in Melbourne an is a trained kickboxer.
