Actor Sherlyn Chopra, who is among the women speaking up in the Raj Kundra pornography production case, has alleged the businessman in 2019 attempted to force himself on her despite her resistance.
These sexual misconduct allegations come in the midst of Kundra, husband of actor Shilpa Shetty, being remanded to judicial custody for two weeks in a case related to the distribution of illegal adult content via an app called Hotshots. Almost a dozen arrests have been made in the alleged racket, with Kundra being named by the Mumbai Police as the "key conspirator." More on the case here.
Chopra, famous for films like Dil Bole Haddipa and Wajah Tum Ho, has reportedly recorded her statement in the case. In April this year, she also filed an FIR against Kundra on charges of attempted sexual assault.
Sherlyn Chopra Says Kundra Felt His Marriage Was "Complicated"
According to Times of India, Chopra in her police complaint said in 2019, following a business meeting, Kundra came to her house and began kissing her "even though she resisted." Elaborating on her choice to not get involved with a married man, Chopra further alleges Kundra revealed his marriage with Shetty was "complicated" and left him stressed.
Chopra says she escaped to her washroom after pushing Kundra away from her.
In a video on her social media accounts, Chopra claims she was the first to give her statement to the cyber cell of the Mumbai Police earlier this year in the porn racket case and was the one to give authorities the lead on Armsprime, the company reportedly behind the Hotshots app. Chopra says she turned down Kundra's offers for the app since the content was "sleazy."
As per previous reports, Kundra's wife Shetty during police interrogation in the case had said the content on Hotshots was "erotica" not porn and wasn't unlike what OTT platforms were showing these days. Here's what women involved in the case are saying.
