Student activist of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Shehla Rashid Shora, filed a complaint today against mafia don Ravi Poojary for allegedly threatening her. This happened on Monday when another student activist of JNU, Umar Khalid, was attacked near Constitution Club in New Delhi.
“FIR number 45/2018 u/s (under section) 506 RPC filed by J&K Police against Ravi Poojary on my complaint,” Shora tweeted. She revealed that Poojary had threatened her, Jignesh Mevani and Khalid to “shut up”.

“Meanwhile, got this death threat from right-wing Hindutvawadi fundamentalist Ravi Poojary. He warns Umar Khalid, Jignesh Mevani and me to shut up! Threat by SMS #DigitalIndia,” she said in an earlier tweet.
Just shut your mouth or we will shut your mouth forever. Tell Umar Khalid and Jignesh Mewani also. Mafia don Ravi Poojary”
She then attached a screenshot of the message that Poojary had sent her in a tweet. The message said, “Just shut your mouth or we will shut your mouth forever. Tell Umar Khalid and Jignesh Mewani also. Mafia don Ravi Poojary”.

On Monday, an unidentified man fired a shot at Khalid who had gone to attend an event at Constitution Club in the high security area near Parliament. While Khalid escaped unhurt, the situation was grim and could have led to murder.
Recent times have seen many killings of researchers and journalist who tried to start a critical narrative of the government. Most recently, Bangalore-based journalist Gauri Lankesh was murdered in her own house by allegedly Hindutva goons.
This is not the first time that Shora received a death threat. In February, when she spoke up in favour of inter-faith marriages and Muslim women’s autonomy to choose their own partner, she had to deactivate her Facebook account because of a wave of multiple rape threats and hate messages on her social media.
