While the nation is recuperating from team India's defeat at the ICC World Cup, here's some news to lift our spirits. Team India has clinched a total of six medals at the Para Asian Archery Championship in Thailand, with four golds, one silver, and one bronze. Jammu and Kashmir's Sheetal Devi, Rakesh Kumar, and Sarita Devi led the Indian Para Archery team to its best-ever performance at a Para Asian Archery Championship.
At the Championships, Rakesh Kumar, who is deemed as the world's #5 para-archer, bagged three gold medals. Sheetal and Jyoti won India's fourth gold in the women’s compound open team event defeating Korea’s Jin Young Jeong and Na Mi Choi 148-137 in a lopsided final. The Indian team tackled former champions, South Korea, who clinched just one gold below India, securing second place. The Para Archers Sheetal Devi, Rakesh Kumar and Sarita Devi are trained at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Sports Complex, Katra.
