Kerala Actor Dileep Seeks Protection From Arrest In Sexual Assault Case

The Malayalam actor, Dileep moved to the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail in a case about allegedly threatening the officers investigating the sexual assault of an actor back in 2017.

He has been named along with five others in the case which includes his brother Anoop, brother-in-law Sooraj and other family members.

Actor Dileep Moves To Kerala HC Seeking Protection From Arrest:

The actor moved to the High Court on January 10, 2022, in the non-bailable case registered against the abduction and sexual assault case of 2017.

FIR was lodged against them after an audio clip surfaced on the Malayalam news channels. The clip allegedly had voice of Sooraj. He allegedly conspired to murder the Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Baiju Paulose(investigating officer). As per the clip shown on ReporterLive, a man(allegedly Dileep) says- "all five officials, you watch what you're going to get". In January 2022, the director Balchandrakumar, who claims to be close acquaintance with actor Dileep, also raised many allegations against him in the case and informed the police about possession of clips of female actor who was assaulted.

Paulose said that director has deposed that Dileep while watching a YouTube video at his home remarked that he would do away with investigating officer and other officer who were responsible for arresting him.

The director has been asked to appear before the magistrate to record his statement for the revelations he made against the accused.

The investigating team has bow taken permission to interrogate the prime accused, Pulsar Sami, who kidnapped the actor back in 2017. The actor Dileep moved to Kerala HC in this regard and in his plea to the Court, he said that all the revelations were "baseless".

About The Case:

The actor was arrested in case in 2017. The case was registered for sexually assaulting the female actor from Malayalam movie by seven people. Her car was hijacked on the National Highway 544 near Parambayam when she was on her way to Kochi from a shoot that took place in Thrissur. The Malayalam actor Dileep was the accused mastermind in the case.

However, he was released after two months on bail and the case is still sub judice.
