Williams has stunned us by winning the tournament six times but last year she faced trouble handling Roberta Vinci in the semifinals, which stopped the American's bid for a calendar-year Grand Slam. Williams also was nearly overtaken atop by the WTA rankings by No. 2 Angelique Kerber but stayed at No. 1 this week as the U.S. Tennis Association announced the men's and women's rankings on Tuesday. Garbine Muguruza now ranked 3, and Agnieszka Radwanska is placed No. 4.
