Alia Bhatt while on the sets of the film Gangubai Kathiawadi saved a child actress from embarrassment, said her co-star Seema Pahwa. The Shubh Mangal Saavdhan actress Pahwa shared a story when Bhatt and the child actor were working together at night and the little girl fell asleep during the shooting. “Alia ne ye zimedari apne upar le li. Jab dialogue bolna tha, wo usko zara sa hila deti thi aur bacchi dialogue bol jaati thi time pe (Alia took the responsibility of making sure that the child delivers her lines. She’d prod her.)," Pahwa said.

"Mujhe bahut acha laga uska ye gesture aur bahut hi tareef karungi main uski ke usne itne achi se uss bacchi ke embarrassment ko itne ache se usne saath diya and dant khaane se bachaya (I really appreciated this gesture. She saved the girl from embarrassment and possibly being told off.),” Pahwa, who also acted in films like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Bala, recalled the incident in an interview with Pinkvilla.
Pahwa further added, “Bahut hi sanskari ladki hai. Bado ki respect karna aata hai, dusre ache kalakaro ki respect karna aata hai, bahut cooperate karti hai (She is a cultured girl. She respects elders, she respects other actors.). Set pe, abhi tak itna lamba schedule uske saath kiya hai, maine kabhi nahi dekha ke wo set pe late aa rahi ho ya set pe tantrum dikha rahi ho (I’ve done long hours with her, but not once has she arrived late or complained).”
Recently, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial made headlines when the family members of Gangubai critiqued and filed a case against the actress and the director in the Bombay civil court. A report by Bollywoodlife stated that "the writer of Mafia Queens of Mumbai, Hussain Zaidi on whose book the film is based, has also filed a case against the filmmaker and actress." However, no official statement regarding the same has been released yet.
Bhatt, who is also awaiting the release Brahmastra, recently shared her excitement over resuming the shooting of the film and told Hindustan Times in an interview, "It’s a great feeling to be reunited with the team and being back on set. Of course, we have multiple restrictions and protocols to follow, everyone is very careful, taking all sorts of precautions. But we’ve accepted that this is the new normal, and we’re all trying to make the best of the situation."
