17 school students molested in UP: In a school at Muzaffarnagar, 17 students allegedly fell unconscious after being drugged. Upon waking up they realised that they had been taken advantage of. When the girls told their parents what had happened, they approached the police to take action. But it took nearly 16 days to file a complaint. On December 6, one of the accused, the owner of the school where these students studied, was finally arrested.
Another accused in the case is the principal of the school where the girls were molested and drugged. It is being alleged that the two accused threatened the survivors not to say a word or else their family members would be killed.
Accusing the local station house officer of trying to shush the matter, parents of the survivors said that action was taken only after they reached out to Member of Legislative Assembly of Purkaji, Pramod Utwal, for help
The two accused have been charged under sections 354 (outraging the modesty of women), 328 (causing hurt by poison) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act.
