The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) plea on Monday for a week. The PIL sought court-monitored Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde, with judges AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian, remitted the proceedings due to the absence of the counsel of the petitioner Puneet Dhanda. Dhanda could appear for the hearing, held over video conferencing.
Deaths of Rajput and Salian linked: PIL
The plea, filed by advocate Dhanda claimed that both the deaths of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager Disha Salian are somehow interlinked. A PIL was filed in the matter that sought a CBI investigation into the matter. The plea also sought directions to Mumbai police to cooperate in the proceedings of the probe and present a detailed investigation report before the court. Furthermore, if the report is to be found unsatisfactory, the matter can be referred to the CBI, who can launch a probe for further investigation.

Salian's case file missing: Petition
The petition said, “It is after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, various rumours and conspiracy theories have been linked between the deaths of Disha and Sushant, because both died in suspicious circumstances and at the peak of their successful professional career,” the plea said. It was further stated that Salian's case file has been missing. It further said, "After perusal of the same if this Court finds it unsatisfactorily then the matter may be referred to Central Bureau of Investigation for further investigation."
