Who Is Saroja Varghese? Author And Mother Of Biden's Staff Maju Varghese

Saroja Varghese: Joe Biden administration has been applauded for its diversity. The US President appointed Maju Varghese an Indian-origin lawyer as his deputy assistant.

He joins the many individuals in Biden's team, including Kamala Harris, who have Indian origins.

Varghese, who is from Pathanamthitta in Kerala, came to the US because of his mother Saroja Varghese. He recently shared a chat he had with his mother. When he told his mother about Biden's nomination as the Democrats' presidential candidate, Saroja told him, "Finally, you must be relieved with the fight. Now you can start your real fight. Good luck.”

• Saroja Varghese made her family move to America in the 1970s because of her nurse profession.
• According to a report, Saroja was working for the Indian Air Force and had to go to the US base as a nurse. She was later joined by her husband Mathew and her daughter Manju.
• She has authored several books in the Malayalam language such as The Golden Lampstand and Children's Short Stories. 
• Right after shifting to the US, she started working at the Long Island Jewish Hospital and Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital as a nurse.
• Saroja Varghese has appeared on news channels where she was interviewed.
• Maju Varghese talked about his mother who was "a nurse from India, logging long hours". During the tenure of former US president Barack Obama, Saroja was taken to the Oval Office by her son to meet the President.
