In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sania spoke about her husband's poised nature of taking care of the little one and how he is babysitting and helping her. She revealed, “A lot has changed after becoming a mother, your life changes, I think the whole focus becomes about the baby and prioritising the baby. Me as a working woman, I obviously want to get back to tennis, so I am trying to prioritise my time. It is the most selfless kind of love I have ever known, and it is the most amazing feeling I have ever had. My life has completely changed for the better. Ya, Shoaib is also playing quite a lot and is travelling so he does help whenever he can."

The couple gave birth to a baby boy on October 30, 2018. They named their child ‘Izhaan’ (meaning God’s gift). Since then Sania is working hard to take care of the baby and her practice simultaneously.

Last year, Shoaib had announced the birth of their child on Twitter which was widely liked and retweeted.

Sania too had tweeted, "Living life in the fast lane can be fun !!! It’s time to say hello to the world" along with a picture of their son.

She further stated how do the couple cope with the new phase in life. The six-time Grand Slam champion shared, “I think I am embracing it, it is not so much coping. I am embracing everything. It is new challenges and new things to do. New ideas and new plans, days and nights are now different. Most definitely the easiest part is embracing everything and be there for my baby, loving my baby. I want everything in the world more for him than anybody else. That has been easiest thing. Nothing really has been so difficult but maybe the night sleep because being an athlete, sleeping throughout the night is something I was used to but now it doesn’t happen that often.”

Last year the expecting mother featured in a video for Culture Machine’s digital channel Blush and Kellogg’s India, in which the tennis player was portrayed as a mother waiting for her child to arrive into this world. She conveyed a heartfelt message to her baby. “Some will say an ace cricketer, some will say a tennis champ, but know this, you are free to follow your dreams,” an emotional Sania said in the video.

The message was from a sportsperson mother to her child who was about to embark the journey that is called life. The baby would be advised to take up either of the sports from various direction. But the proud parent wants him to enfold the life as it is. She advised him to be free, celebrating the individuality.
