Top seeds Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis played some powerful tennis as they stormed into the women's third round with a 6-3 6-1 score, knocking out the Japanese pair of Eri Hozumi and Miyu Kato at the Wimbledon championships on Sunday.
The Indo-Swiss pair put up their best from the start and wrapped up their second round clash in just 52 minutes . Their good form was evident from the fact that they managed to convert five of the eight break points they earned in the match.

The duo will next face off Christina McHale and Jelena Ostapenko in the third round. The American-Latvian combine defeated 13th seeds Alla Kudryavtseva and Vania King 6-1 6-4 in their second round match.

In Men's Doubles, 6th seeded Indo-Romanian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea will play for the quarterfinals berth today against 10th seeded Henri Kontinen from Finland and Australian John Peers, the same pair who defeated Leander Paes and his Pole partner Marcin Matkowski in 2nd round last evening.
In the Mixed Doubles event, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna will figure in their 2nd round matches today with their respective partners.
