The World No.1 women’s doubles pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have advanced to the third round of the French Open, beating Nao Hibino and Eri Hozumi of Japan in straight sets at the Clay Courts of Roland Garros. In one of the most uneven contests, the Indo-Swiss pair came out all guns blazing, wrapping up the match 6-2 6-0.

Meanwhile,the same day, India’s Leander Paes entered the second round with his Polish partner Marcin Matkowski comfortably, the Austrian-German combine of Julian Knowle and Florian Mayer 6-4, 6-3. Sixth seeds Rohan Bopanna and Florian Mergea advanced into the second round by defeating the French pair of Gregoire Barrere and Quentin Halys 6-3 6-4.
Sania and Martina will face off Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova of Czech Republic in the next round.
