Sambhal woman rape video: In a horrific incident from Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal city, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man who also recorded a video of the criminal act.
As per reports on Tuesday, the woman went to collect fodder from the forest with two other women from the village. There, a youth raped her, police said. Some reports claim he even threatened to kill the woman. The incident occurred on June 26.
The rape survivor's father reportedly lodged a complaint and a case has been registered against the accused, as well as the two women, Sambhal Circle Officer Arun Kumar Singh told PTI.
As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, 3,065 cases of rape were reported from UP in 2019, making the state among the highest in crime against women. Data pointed to a rape happening in the country every 16 minutes.

The accused has not yet been arrested and a search is on. Police officials said he allegedly shot the rape incident on his phone, which soon went viral on social media. Circulation of such content is punishable under the Information Technology (IT) Act and police say they have taken cognisance of the same.
Last month, another shocking case of a viral sexual assault video had taken the internet by storm, in which multiple persons were seen violating a young girl. Earlier believed to be from Assam, since the video significantly circulated in eastern states, the persons in the video were traced back to Bengaluru where the incident had reportedly occurred. The accused and survivor were Bangladeshi nationals, and had come to India in connection to a prostitution ring. Seven accused - five men and two women - had been arrested in the case, as per latest reports.
