Salma Agha’s Daughter Zara Khan Gets Rape Threats, Registers Complaint Against A Woman

Veteran actress Salma Agha's daughter Zara Khan has recently filed a complaint against a woman who has been reportedly sending her rape and death threats on Instagram. An actress and singer, Khan's complaint was filed at Oshiwara police station in Mumbai against a 23-year-old woman who reportedly hails from Hyderabad. Police have identified the accused as an MBA student.

According to a TOI report, the accused woman had created a fake profile on Instagram and was sending vulgar message to Zara Khan. Her motive is still unknown. She has been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Information Technology (IT) Act.

According to police, Zara has allegedly received numerous threats and abusive messages and comments from this woman between October 28 and November 3. "The accused sent vulgar messages and murder threats on Instagram. A duplicate Instagram account was made by the accused. We wrote a letter to Instagram who helped us," a senior inspector from the Oshiwara police station, told IANS.

Accused was "not responding properly"

As per the police, the accused was sent a notice on Friday. "The officer who had gone to give the notice found that she was not responding properly. She was not ready to come only. Medical treatment is yet to be done, but she looked mentally disturbed. She didn't react like a normal person," the officer added.

Further elaborating on the accused's mental health condition, the police said, "Before she could reveal any other crucial information, we learnt that Saravar is mentally unstable, which is why we issued a notice under Section 41(A) of the CRPC, which states that appearance before a police officer," said the Inspector. Meanwhile, no arrests have been made yet.

Back in 2011, Salma Agha and Zara had also filed a complaint after an alleged MMS clip featuring the latter got circulated online.

Who is Zara Khan

Zara Khan is the daughter of Pakistan-born British and Indian actress and singer Salma Agha, who shot to fame in Bollywood with the film Nikaah (1982). Khan herself was seen in films like Aurangzeb and Desi Kattey. She has also done playback in her own film Barbaadiyan and this year she released a single titled Jogan as well.
