Salesforce Appoints Arundhati Bhattacharya As CEO Of India Office

Salesforce.com, a US cloud-based service provider, recently appointed Arundhati Bhattacharya as its India Chief Executive Officer, Thomson Reuters reported. Bhattacharya, one of India's well-known faces in banking, will be residing in Mumbai and take over the new role in April. Currently, she is the chairman of SWIFT India, part of a global payments network. She was also the first woman chairman of SBI.

"The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has partnered with software firm Salesforce to enhance skill development and capacity building. Through this partnership, NSDC and Salesforce aim to empower learners and educators, regardless of socio-economic background, to skill up for the jobs of tomorrow with innovative content, presentations and training resources," MSDE said in a press release.

Arundhati will report to Ulrik Nehammer, General Manager of Salesforce in the APAC region. “Arundhati is an incredible business leader and we are delighted to welcome her to Salesforce as chairperson and CEO India,” said Gavin Patterson, President, and CEO of Salesforce International, in a press statement. “India is an important growth market for Salesforce and a world-class innovation and talent hub and Arundhati’s leadership will guide our next phase of growth, customer success and investment in the region,” he said.
