The London Olympic bronze medallist will face either Denmark's Line Christophersen or our very own Ira Sharma for a place in the finals at the Super 100 event, which is a part of BWF's revised Olympic qualification events. Ira Sharma was a new addition to the main draw after an unannounced player was pulled out due to Covid related reasons.
Along with Saina Nehwal, two more Badminton players have made the country proud. Commonwealth Games bronze medallists Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy have also entered the Semifinals of the Orleans Masters Tournament. The duo had a comfortable win over England's Chloe Birch & Lauren Smith. Ponnappa and Reddy made the score 21-14, 21-18 in the game.
The duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy is currently world no. 25. The duo had received a bye in their second-round match against Indonesiaโs Fabriana Kusuma and Amalia Pratiwi. In their next match, they would be facing Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai from Thailand.
