Ritu Phogat talked about her dedication to winning a medal. She also gave a message to her next opponent Meng Bo for their upcoming match in the quarter final. In her message to Bo, she said, "Don't underestimate me."
The Indian mixed martial artist Ritu Phogat said to the virtual press media, "I’m extremely excited to be back in the Grand Prix."
"I’ve always maintained from day one that I belong in the Grand Prix, and I’ve proved my mettle once again. I strongly believe that I deserve to be here and it is a homecoming for me."
In her message to Meng Bo, Phogat reportedly said, "All I want to say is that don't underestimate me or mistake me to be one of your sheep. You would have started first but I am going to finish fierce, strong and victorious." Ritu Phogat also added that she would ensure that this is one of the most unforgettable matches of their careers.
About her relationship with the Dangal girl Geeta Phogat, Ritu said, " My elder sister Geeta (Phogat) has always seen me as a kid, so I discuss everything with her which clears my mind." The 27-year-old mixed martial artist is going to be participating in the ONE Women's Atomweight World Grand Prix Championship. He came after her comprehensive victory over Lin Heqin last July. Phogat will be competing against Meng Bo in the quarterfinal round of the tournament on Friday.
