Wrestler Ritu Phogat (48kg) clinched a silver medal in in the Under-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship at Poland on Saturday (Nov 25).

Ritu, the gold medalist at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship last year, bowed out when Turkish Wrestler Demirhan showed some brilliant moves and won the gold medal bout. Ritu had to settle for a silver.

In quarterfinal, Ritu defeated Bulgarian Wrestler Selishka 4-2 points and silenced Chinese Wrestler Jiang Zhu 4-3 in the semifinal.
Ritu is achieving slow but steady feats and had won the National Championship in Indore this month. She also bagged a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in May this year.

Ritu Phogat, the youngest of the Phogat sisters, is making Phogat family proud with the medal tally. The family is already famous these days through their superhit family biopic Film “Dangal”.
