Celebrity views are often trolled on micro-blogging sites. Sometimes for all the right reasons. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is quite a social media-savvy, expressing his views on any and everything under the sun. While there's nothing wrong with that, his recent tweet during the ICC Women’s World Cup for Indian Women’s Cricket Team really hit the wrong nerve across the board.
He tweeted, “Waiting for a repeat of Sourav Ganguly's act on the balcony of The Lords Ground, London, when India beat England 2002 NatWest series final! YO"
The actor drew much flak for his statement. The sexist tweet has gone viral with 535 re-tweets and over a thousand responses to it.

Many people called the actor out for his sheer ignorance and replied to his tweet with much funnier tweets.

In poor taste Mr Kapoor

Faced with the brickbats, Kapoor tried to justify the act by asking, “WHAT WRONG HAVE I SAID? I DIDNT SAY ANY FEMALE PLAYER SHOULD!I ONLY SAID SOURAV GANGULY SHOULD REPEAT HIS SHOW. YOU HAVE A WRONG MIND DEAR!”

But the damage has been done and no amount of damage control can help the senior actor. This is what happens when you are a public figure and make sexist jokes. The actor must take notes from the incident and mend his ways for his future tweets. A tweet cannot be made for fun when you are an influence with a huge following. It needs to have clear context and meaning.
