The Indians were on the defensive most of the game, with the Americans dictating terms by keeping the ball in their possession. The first goal was hit by Kathleen Bam in the first half of the game to give USA the lead. She then scored in the 42nd minute as well, making it 2 goals up in their favour. The Indians finally played some attacking hockey in the third quarter, but could not get past the US goalkeeper. And finally Melissa Gonzalez scored a goal in the 52nd minute, sealing the match 3-0 in favour of USA. USA now moves to the top of the group with 12 points, while India with one point is at the bottom.
