Rihanna remarks on Israel issue: Pop icon Rihanna is the latest celebrity to publicly weigh in on the ongoing violence in the Middle East, where the conflict between Israel and Palestine has consistently escalated in the past weeks. "My heart is breaking with the violence I'm seeing displayed between Israel and Palestine! I can't bare to see it!" the singer wrote in an Instagram post Thursday.
Her statement comes following Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot's, who shared a social media note Wednesday, praying for the "unimaginable hostility" to end. Both women, among the few Hollywood celebrities who have commented on the Middle-Eastern power struggle in recent times, have been widely criticised for their words.
While some slammed them with the allegation of a "one-sided narrative," many others flooded their posts with 'Free Palestine' hashtags. Others lauded the two for speaking out on the human rights crisis.
Rihanna Remarks On Israel-Palestine Issue Earns Criticism, Backlash
"Innocent Israeli and Palestinian children are hiding in bomb shelters, over 40 lives lost in Gaza alone, at least 13 of whom were also innocent children!" the Umbrella singer wrote further on her post.
"There needs to be some kind of resolve! We are sadly watching innocent people fall victim to notions perpetuated by government and extremists, and this cycle needs to be broken!" Rihanna, last year, was subjected to massive trolling for remarking on the farmers' protest in India. More on that here.

Over the last week, Gaza has been fiery with tension, witnessing missile exchanges and deadly air raids that have claimed the lives of 83 and left over 400 people injured in the territory, as per reports. The United Nations has warned of an "all-out war" in the event that the conflict is not restrained. The Israeli occupation of Palestinian land marks half a century.
Gadot, in particular, has been lambasted by netizens for her stand, since it seemed to many to express "biased support" for Israel, from where she hails. Her two years of mandatory service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have also been pointed out by critics as contributory to Israel's conflict with Palestine.
