Rhea Chakraborty Requests Amit Shah To Initiate CBI Enquiry Into Sushant's Death

Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, has requested the home minister Amit Shah to initiate a CBI probe to investigate Sushant’s untimely demise. On Thursday, July 16, 2020, Chakraborty took to Twitter and demanded justice for the late actor. In the tweet, she addressed herself as Sushant’s girlfriend.

She wrote, “Respected @AmitShah sir, I’m Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, it is now over a month since his sudden demise. I have complete faith in the government, however, in the interest of justice.”

She further added, “I request you with folded hands to initiate a CBI enquiry into this matter. I only want to understand what pressures, prompted Sushant to take this step.”

Earlier she received rape and murder threats

This tweet came in after another massive post by the actress on social media earlier today. On July 14, when Sushant’s demise completed a month, Rhea Chakraborty and Ankita Lokhande broke their silence and expressed their griefs through emotional notes on Instagram. Chakraborty wrote a long emotional post on her Instagram handle adding “ You are the one who made me believe in love, the power of it.” However, the actress was trolled on social media and reportedly she also received rape threats. Earlier today, (Thursday, 16 July 2020), Chakraborty shared a screenshot of rape and murder threats she has been receiving on Instagram and wrote a long post slamming the troller. In the post, the actress addressed the troller, and wrote, “Do you realize the seriousness of what you have said? These are crimes, and by law no one, I repeat NO ONE should be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment." She has requested the cyber cell to look into the matter and take actions.

Reportedly, Sushant was found dead in his apartment on June 14, 2020. It was being alleged that he was battling with depression for the past six months and died by suicide. Out of several other Bollywood celebrities and Sushant’s closed ones, Rhea was also called by the Mumbai Police to record her statement regarding the actor’s death. The investigation is still underway.
