Rhea Chakraborty bail in drugs probe challenged by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The anti-drug agency has moved the Supreme Court to challenge the Bombay High Court's order that granted bail to the actor last October. The probe had commenced in connection to the death investigation of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
As per reports, an apex court bench of the Chief Justice of India will hear the NCB's appeal challenging Chakraborty's bail on March 18. She was released after spending a month in jail between September and October 2020, for allegedly financing drugs Rajput used.

Rhea Chakraborty Bail Observations
Her bail court had observed, "She(Rhea) is not part of drug dealers. She has not forwarded the drugs allegedly procured by her to somebody else to earn monetary or other benefits. Since she has no criminal antecedents, there are reasonable grounds for believing that she is not likely to commit any offence while on bail."
Earlier this month, the NCB named Chakraborty, her brother Showik and 31 other persons in a chargesheet related to the drugs case. Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde had called the 12000-page document "damp squib."
On the film front, Chakraborty, who was to be a key cast member on Rumi Jaffery's Chehre releasing April this year, seems to be missing from the film's promotions, poster and teaser. More on that here.
