Israel's Mossad spy agency on the hunt for women agents

I’m sure the Bond films bring out the hidden agent in each one of us! While every time I sit and watch James Bond in his smartly-arrogant (in a good way!) form, kicking evil out of the world -- I ask myself, is there much exposure for women in this kickass world -- why does it always have to be a male star in these iconic films? But, recently, MI6 has given me the answers I was looking for all my life!

“The real-life equivalent of Q in the James Bond films is a woman,” the head of MI6 has said, BBC reports. The head of Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service has knocked our senses open since they revealed this. The tech wiz agent, known as "Q", played by men in the James Bond movies is actually a woman in reality. Hence, the stereotype is demolished now, I assume!

Alex Younger, chief of the Secret Intelligence Service, declared that he encouraged more women to join the service and is trying to shatter the stereotype that MI6 only hires men. And now, the Intelligence Service is on a roll to sign more women to play diverse roles in different areas.

While speaking at the Women in IT awards on Wednesday, Younger said: "The real-life Q is looking forward to meeting you and I'm pleased to report that the real-life Q is a woman."

“If any of you would like to join us … the real-life Q is looking forward to meeting you and I’m pleased to report that the real-life Q is a woman,” said Younger, also known by the code name "C", on Wednesday evening, Telegraph reported.

According to the MI6 chief, their main vision now is to employ talent but "we've got to get over and see through the Bond thing". He even said that the Bond films have created a certain stereotype in our minds over the period of time and that needs to be broken soon. He added that the “particular sort of person that will join MI6 – whether they’re really posh or going to Oxford”.

He also added that while the fictional MI6 spy is great as it “means that all of our opponents think there’s an MI6 officer hiding behind every bush and that we’re 10,000 times larger than we actually are”.

Younger added: “The issue for me is that stands in the way of something I regard as being so important, which is that we can reach into every community in Britain and make sure we get the people that are the best, regardless of their background.”

Younger now hopes to make MI6 even more diverse. He said that if that happens, there will be a pool of talent in the service which would certainly improve its decision-making processes.

He added: "The more different people you have in the room, in these high-pressure circumstances in which we operate, the better the decisions. So, success for me is a deeper, broader range of technological skills in MI6 and more diversity, in particular more women."

Intelligence agencies also recently admitted that they are using female-friendly websites to recruit more women in an attempt to bring out gender stability in the intelligence workforce.
