Kangana Ranaut farm laws: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on 19 November that the Central government will repeal the three controversial laws passed in Parliament in September last year. He said the three contentious laws will be repealed during this month's Parliament session.

"I apologise to India and with true and pure heart that may be... we were not able to convince farmers . I'm here to declare that we have decided to repeal the three farm laws...We will complete all the formalities during Parliament session that begins this month," PM Modi said in his address to the nation on Friday.

The three laws 

The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act are the three laws that will be repealed.

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to share her views on the same. She shared a tweet on her Instagram story that read, "Street power is the only power that matters, hence proved." Replying to this, she wrote, "Sad, shameful and absolutely unfair....If people on the street have started to make laws and not the chosen government in the parliament then even this is a jihadi nation.... Congratulations to all those who wanted it like that."

In her second Instagram story, she shared an image of India's first female Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and wrote, "When the conscience of a nation is in deep sleep, लठ is the only solution and dictatorship is the only resolution. Happy Birthday Madam Prime Minister"
Ranaut was recently in news for her controversial statement during a media interaction. In an interview with television anchor Navika Kumar, she had said, “Vo azaadi nahi thi, vo bheek thi. Jo azaadi mili hai, vo 2014 mei mili hai (The freedom that we got in 1947 was given as alms or charity. We got real freedom in 2014).” Read more about it here.
