Agnipath scheme has opened gates for female candidates to serve the country in defence forces in large numbers. Recently, Ishita Shukla, the daughter of Actor Ravi Kishan, joined the defence forces under the Agnipath scheme. Ravi Kishan is also a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP.
People took to twitter to congratulate Ravi Kishan and his daughter Ishita Shukla. Ravi Kishan thanked the people who shared and praised Ishita for the achievement. Twitter users congratulated the proud father and hailed the 21-year-old for choosing a different career path and not aiming for being an actor.

In June 2022, the central government announced changes in the recruitment process of the armed forces. The Agnipath Scheme was launched on June 14, 2022, the age limit was extended for recruitment to 23 years from 21 years. The candidate selected under the scheme is titled as 'Agniveer' for a service duration of four years.
