A rape survivor and family attempted suicide outside UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s house in Lucknow on Sunday (April 8). They took the drastic decision after the UP Police refused to take action against rape accused BJP MLA from Unnao, Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
ANI reported that the woman’s family claimed that Sengar along with his accomplices had raped her in 2017. They alleged that the police beat their family up after they filed a rape complaint against Sengar.

Sengar spoke up on the issue and said, “This is a pre-planned incident. There was an incident in their family and police had registered a case against it. Police saved two innocent people, they are making me a scapegoat.”
There is no law & order in UP. Comp Gundaraj. Not only should the BJP MLA be imm arrested but he should be made to resign. CBI should investigate the role of all including the CM in not registering the FIR and strict action should be taken against all guilty. https://t.co/aTMnYFjsW3

“I request administration to probe this well & punish the real culprit,” added Sengar.
Lucknow Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Rajiv Krishnan said, “The family has accused Sengar of raping her. While probing the case, we learnt that both parties were in a dispute for the last 10-12 years.”
“The case has been transferred to Lucknow. The allegations can only be proved after a thorough probe,” the ADG added.
