In a conversation with fellow contestant, Naezy, the Bollywood actor opened up about his past relationship and the misuse of feminism against men. When Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant Naezy asked Ranvir Shorey about divorces in the entertainment industry, the actor revealed how separations are becoming a common issue across India. "This does not have to do with any particular industry. It is a pervasive issue in this generation," he said. (Translated from Hindi).

Shorey then switched to a conversation on the feminist movement. "The feminist movement is being abused these days. Often, men bear the brunt of women abusing feminism," Shorey said in Hindi. It must be noted that he did not provide any context behind this statement. Naezy agreed, "Women misuse it."

The actor then detailed the significance of genuine feminism, acknowledging its efforts to bring gender equality. "Women have been historically given second-class treatment." However, he then made another controversial remark, "The feminist movement is important because women are physically weaker than men."

Recently, several female celebrities like Nora Fatehi and Neena Gupta have also opened up about their similar stance on feminism, stating it is being misused to stir personal vendettas rather than truly advancing gender equality. 'Feminazis', 'aaj kal ke feminists', 'pseudo-feminist', and more such phrases have become common in the online discourse often used to discredit or mock women.

Recently, a woman's social media post caused controversy when she made a "joke" about filing a fake domestic violence case and claiming alimony. The post made a mockery of experiences that affect several Indian men and women today. Neither domestic violence nor misusing divorce laws are something to be joked about.
