Rakul Preet Singh was issued a summon on Thursday to join the probe and the actress has been seen cooperating with the investigation, NCB officials have said. NCB officials, however, said the actor's phone number was unavailable at first but the agency could finally reach out to her through various platforms. “She has acknowledged the summons,” a senior NCB official said later.
According to the NCB, the drug-probe has exposed a new angle in connection with actor Rajput’s alleged suicide. The investigation has revealed names of A-list celebrities and they have been asked to “join the probe”, an official said on Wednesday. Apart from Singh, NCB on Wednesday summoned actors Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, among others, for questioning.

Earlier this week, a few “drug chats” were accessed by media which had come under the scrutiny of the NCB. It reportedly included several initials like K, D, S, N, and J. Times Now went on to claim that ‘D’ in the chats has allegedly been identified as Deepika Padukone while 'K' is Karishma Prakash, her manager. Soon after that Padukone and her manager both were sent summons to appear before the NCB.
Meanwhile, in a bail plea with the Bombay High Court, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik pointed out that no drugs have been recovered from them during the investigation, as they did not supply drugs to Rajput. They also countered allegations of financing and supplying drugs levied against them stating that they did not pertain to large or "commercial" quantities of contraband.
