Schools, Colleges And Coaching Classes In Rajasthan To Reopen From January 18

Rajasthan is the latest state to resume offline classes. Schools and colleges will reopen in the state from January 18.

Schools, colleges, universities and coaching centres will reopen from January 18 in the state of Rajasthan. The reopening of educational institutes in the state is happening after a nine-month gap due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Several other states in India have already resumed offline classes in schools and colleges in the first week of the new year itself.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made the announcement regarding reopening of educational institutions. The decision was taken after holding a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation in the state with officials on January 5.

Gehlot added that medical college, dental college, nursing college and paramedical college have also been instructed to open from January 11, keeping in mind the process of COVID-19 vaccination.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) release, classes from 9 to 12 in schools, last year classes of university and college, coaching centres and government training institutes have been directed to resume offline from January 18. This major decision has been taken keeping in view the falling COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan.

As per the chief minister's instructions,  50 percent attendance of the total capacity in each class will be on the first day, the remaining 50 percent will be on the second day in all the educational institutions set to reopen.

"We are keeping a strict watch on the people travelling from Britain and other countries and will ensure their intensive screening," he said referring to the worry over mutant strain of coronavirus detected in Britain.
