Vasundhara Raje: Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje's name was not seen in the Bharatiya Janta Party's (BJP) list of star campaigners for the upcoming bypolls in three constituencies.
Three seats in Rajasthan Assembly namely Sahada, Suhangarh and Rajsamand will go to polls on April 17. The names mentioned in the star campaigners' list were of three Union Ministers, Arjun Ram Meghawal, Kailash Chaudhary and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Other names on the list were Gulab Kataria the leader of the opposition, deputy leader Rajendra Rathore and BJP state chief Satish Poonia.
According to a report by IANS, Arun Singh will be one of the keynote campaigners in the upcoming bypolls. The report also had a source from BJP claiming that Raje's role has been kept limited in the bypolls because she has a larger role to play in the national politics as she is the national vice-president of BJP.
According to sources, former #Rajasthan CM @VasundharaBJP name is missing from the list of the #BJP's star campaigners for the three Assembly constituencies where bypolls are scheduled.

But the other BJP sources gave conflicting statements as they claimed that Raje is being actively participating in bypolls by influencing her followers to stand as independent candidates against BJP candidates. The source claimed, "As a state organisation, we have convinced more than 50 per cent of followers to terminate their plans to contest as independents and have been successful so far. It's just two or three candidates who are acting tough and shall be convinced."
They added that BJPis confident of winning all three seats without seeking Raje's help. "We have finished our door-to-door survey in each of these places. Our ground survey confirms our victory and hence we stand confident of winning these elections."
Vasundhara Raje was reportedly not seen when BJP candidates were filing their nominations on Tuesday.
The bypolls in Rajasthan are seen as very crucial by political parties. BJP has been betting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name and has been publicising the schemes launched by him in order to convince the voters.
