Have you heard of the axiom,"Fruit of hard work is sweet"? But if a report is to be believed, then the fruit of hard work can be a scooty and cash prizes as well.
With an intention of promoting women's education in Rajasthan, the state government has decided to give cash awards to meritorious girl students at district levels. Besides the cash prize, the overall topper among girls in Class XII board and ‘Varishtha Upadhyay’ exams will be awarded a scooty.
Starting from this academic session, all meritorious students of classes VIII, X and XII of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) belonging to all categories are eligible to receive the award.

The scheme is open to students of both government and private schools affiliated to the RBSE.
According to the state's School Education Minister, Vasudev Devnani, the student with the highest score in Class VIII board exam, conducted at the district level, will receive a cash prize of Rs 40,000. On the other hand, the toppers in classes X and XII will be awarded Rs 75,000 and Rs 1 lakh respectively.

Emphasising on the eligibility of getting the awards, he mentioned that the students need to secure a minimum of 60% marks. He added that on meeting the criteria, the meritorious students will be given certificates as well.
Basant Panchami has been declared as the day when the award ceremony will be held at each of the district headquarters.
Such incentives by the Education Ministry of the state will go a long way in providing girls with the impetus required to study hard and aim for a brighter and successful future.
