Raj Kundra Whatsapp Chats Revealed: Mumbai Police crime branch reportedly said that businessman and Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was closely connected with UK-based Kerin Production House owner Pradeep Bakshi.
Kundra was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in producing pornographic films and releasing them on a mobile application.
Pradeep Bakshi, who is a close relative of Raj Kundra has been sent to police custody till July 23 in the case. His production house allegedly gave contracts and funds to agents to make pornographic films.
As per reports, the Kenrin Production House was established on March 23, 2005, with its registered office in Stained-upon-Thames, Surrey. In 2008, Bakshi was appointed as the director of the firm. As per reports, Raj Kundra was the business partner and investor in the firm. His personal assistant Umesh Kamat was reportedly a representative of the production house in India. Gehana Vasisth and Umesh Kamat's names came up during the investigations.
According to the police, the videos were sent through an application to Kenrin Production in UK to avoid legal troubles in India. The edited pornographic films were reportedly uploaded to a mobile application named Hotshot. During the investigations, the police found that the production house was allegedly funding pornography via different agents in India.
The police have found a Whatsapp group created by Raj Kundra which was allegedly created for payments of the movies. The group was named "H AAccounts" and had Kundra as its admin with four other members: Pradeep Bakshi, Rob Digital Marketing Hotshot, Raw Evans, content head of Hotshot and Megha Viaan 'accounts'.
In the alleged chats, Raj Kundra talked about marketing strategy, increasing sales, payment of models among matters. Pradeep Bakshi once allegedly texted, "Just send me a PSD file and I will resize them as per our digital assets.”
According to an India Today report, messages from October 20 read, "Yesterday total sale - Rs 2,69,914, Live revenue - Rs 2,23,375. Total registration- 19,39,699, Yesterday registration - 5,095." Raj Kundra allegedly replied, "Movie revenue has really dropped."
A complaint regarding the non-payment of one of the female artists was also raised by a member. The police stated that Gehana Vashist and Umesh Kamat used to make pornographic films and used to send them to Kenrin Production House. The payment of the same used to get wired to their respective accounts, as per reports.
