Raj Kundra Porn Case: Here's What's Happening
An app named Hotshots is at the centre of the pornography controversy, reportedly being used to distribute adult content. Hotshots was a branch out of Armsprime Media Private Limited, a firm led by Kundra, who claims to have sold the app in 2019 to a UK company Kenrin.
Police are however probing the angle that Kundra was allegedly operating the content functions of the app through his Viaan Industries office. Here are the charges against Kundra in the case. The police have reportedly gained access to WhatsApp and email exchanges between Kundra and others involved talking of profits made from their porn business.
"In the WhatsApp chats, we have found that Raj Kundra was talking about a deal about selling 121 videos for USD 1.2 million. This deal seems to be on the international level," the police said Friday.
Others Allegedly Involved In The Case Speak Up
As per allegations made by a co-accused in the porn case, Kundra had previously bribed the police's crime branch Rs 25 lakh to avoid arrest. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) which received the complaint in March 2021 reportedly forwarded it to the chief of Mumbai police but no progress was made on it.
Actors like Gehana Vasisth, who was booked after the police's bust of the alleged porn racket in Madh Island in February this year, Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra have all spoken up in the case. See what the women said here.
