Raj Kaushal funeral: Actor Mandira Bedi lost her husband Raj Kaushal on June 30. The 49-year-old filmmaker passed away untimely from a cardiac arrest early morning on Wednesday. Images from funeral of Raj Kaushal are now doing rounds on social media, show wife Mandira Bedi partaking in the last rites of her husband.
Several personalities from the entertainment industry, such as Ashish Chaudhary, Huma Qureshi, Neelam Kothari, Sameer Soni, Apurva Agnihotri and Ronit Roy attended the funeral.
Raj Kaushal, known for making films like Pyaar Mein Kabhie Kabhie, Shaadi Ka Ladoo and Anthony Kaun Hai suffered from a cardiac arrest at 4: 30 am today. According to actor Ronit Roy, the filmmaker was at home at the time of the incident. Close friend Sulaiman Merchant said that Kaushal had told Bedi that he was having a heart attack. The actor then called Ashish Chaudhary home for help. Sulaiman said that Bedi and Chaudhary put him in a car to take him to hospital, but he was losing consciousness by then. "I think they drove off, taking him to the Lilavati Hospital if I'm not wrong. But in the next 5-10 minutes, they realised that he had no pulse. Before they reached the doctor, it was too late."
Sulaiman also revealed that this wasn't the first heart attack that Raj Kaushal had suffered from. "I think he was 30-32 then. But they took a lot of care after that attack, and he'd kept fine since then."
Several media and entertainment personalities expressed their shock and grief at the sudden death of Raj Kaushal. Filmmaker Onir tweeted, "Gone too soon. We lost Film maker and Producer @rajkaushal1 this morning. Very Sad. He was one of the producers of my first film #MyBrotherNikhil. One of those few who believed in our vision and supported us. Prayers for his soul."

Union Minister Smriti Irani, who had worked with Bedi in the daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, shared a black and white photograph of Kaushal on her Instagram story, captioning it "Om Shanti".
Actor Rohit Roy too shared a photograph of the deceased filmmaker on Instagram to offer his condolences, writing, "One of the nicest guys you could ever have met… and if u were lucky, u could have called him your friend… and just like that, he’s gone, even without saying good bye too numb with grief and shock to react… This is not fair, just not fair…
Raj, my friend, my brother… keep spreading the cheer where ever your next abode is…"
Raj Kaushal is survived by wife Mandira Bedi and two children- Veer and Tara.
