A woman constable recently went beyond the call of duty to save not one but two lives. When a 24-year-old woman went into labour at Thane station, the woman constable, Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer Shobha Mothe, along with other women commuters helped the woman, Meenakshi Jadhav, deliver a baby boy.
What was a regular day at Thane station turned out to be a memorable one. Meenakshi and her husband Sandesh Jadhav, a resident of Shaninagar at Badlapur, were on their way to the hospital when she went into labour at Thane station’s platform number 10. With the help of the woman constable and women passengers, Meenakshi delivered a baby boy.

It all happened suddenly when Meenakshi experienced severe labour pains and her husband cried for help. They were at the platform waiting for a train to Ghatkopar to visit a hospital. Thankfully, RPF officer Shobha Mothe was nearby. Other women passengers quickly came to Meenakshi's aid and covered her, helping with the delivery.
