If sources are to be believed, then Sindhu has definitely decided to opt for the Group-I officer's job and may soon settle down in Andhra Pradesh's capital Amravati.
A family friend of Sindhu told Hindustan Times that the 21-year-old ace badminton player had accepted the letter of the Andhra Pradesh government when she recently visited Vijayawada while on her way to attend the National Women’s Parliament in Amravati.
After getting a confirmation from her side, the authorities are working on the formalities before making the announcement official.

“She was given the job offer by the Andhra government during her felicitation at Vijayawada, immediately after her return from the Rio Olympics. When she went to the National Women’s Parliament on February 10 and 11, she gave the consent letter,” Sindhu’s mother P Vijaya confirmed to Hindustan Times.

Her mother added, “Sindhu will take a call after she gets the appointment order. After all, it should not affect her game and she has a long way to go in her career. But she has to settle down one day. We understand it is a very good offer, and since Sindhu is still young, I think it will definitely help her.”
However, she couldn’t clearly say what this job entails.

The sources also said that the Andhra Pradesh government is considering the post of Deputy Collector for Sindhu.
Currently, Sindhu works for the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) as deputy manager (sports).
After her return from the Rio Olympics, the Andhra and Telangana governments had awarded her Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore cash price respectively and declared a residential plot in her name in Hyderabad for her stellar performance. Simultaneously, she was offered a government job, but Sindhu only accepted the cash.
The shuttler took her game to the global league when she became the first Indian sportswoman to win silver in badminton and reached the finals in the Olympics. In the final, Sindhu gave tough competition to World No.1 Carolina Marin of Spain.

India is so proud of Sindhu's achievements. But now the big question is whether Sindhu is making the right choice by taking up a crucial post as IAS? What can she do in AP as an IAS officer? Shouldn't an experienced officer deserve that post more than her? An important post like this needs to have a clear vision and all her time. As an eminent badminton player in the country, will she be able to concentrate on the job?
