Principal misbehaved with student: The Punjab Department of School Education is forming a committee to look into a viral video that alleges that Anju Chaudhary, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School Ropar , misbehaved with a female student.
Until the Inquiry Committee completes the report, Principal Anju Chaudhary will be on forced leave. While Chaudhary is on forced leave, SP Singh will take over her position in the school until the committee submits their report. The committee of officers is looking into the entire matter and is required to submit the report within a period of 15 days. The committee of officers consists of Karamjeet Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, IPS Malhotra.
Other cases involving minors:
Last month, a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court made its verdict two years after the incident took place. The court ruled capital punishment for the three people convicted in the Bulandshahr gangrape case in Uttar Pradesh. A minor girl was abducted, gangraped, and killed when she was on her way home from tuition classes. The accused were named by the minor’s family members.
Earlier this month, a 6-year-old girl in Bhopal was allegedly raped by her uncle and grandfather. The minor revealed to her mother that her maternal uncle had taken her and her 3-year old brother to a relative’s house and claimed it was to give them snacks. Her maternal grandfather was already present at the house, and they allegedly sexually abused her in front of her younger brother and gave her Rs. 20 to stay quiet. After buying them snacks, they were driven home.
The mother told her husband, and a complaint was lodged against the two relatives. The uncle and grandfather were later arrested. After being questioned, the accused confessed and both of the accused were arrested. Both accused are in the custody of the police under the POSCO Act and Indian Penal Code.
