Pune fire accident: 18 people died in a fire that broke out at SVS Aqua Technologies, Sanitizer Company located in Urvade village of Lavasa Road, which is about 16 km from Pune. This accident occurred at around 5 PM on Monday evening.
All the victims were trapped inside one of the company's plant when the fire broke out. This happened after a blast occurred in a machine, according to reports. Senior police and revenue officials rushed to the site immediately to douse the fire. Eight fire fighting tenders were reportedly deployed for the purpose. Six belonged to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), and two were from Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
The fire was finally doused by 6:43 pm, and soon the fire brigade started searching, rescuing, and recovering bodies from the Pune fire.
Among the victims who died in the Pune fire accident, 15 of them were women. There were a total of 37 employees who were at the factory, and according to the fire department, 20 were rescued.

Many public figures and netizens alike have expressed their condolences for the families who lost their near and dear ones in the Pune fire accident.
President Ramnath Kovind offered his condolences in a tweet, and also prayed for the speedy recovery of all those who have been injured. "The loss of lives of workers, mostly women, in a fire accident at a factory in Pune is extremely unfortunate. My condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray for speedy recovery of the injured," he tweeted.

PM Narendra Modi has announced that an ex-gratia of 2 lakh rupees, will be granted from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the immediate relatives of the people who died in the fire. He said that a sum of 50,000 rupees will be given to all those people who have been injured.
